Meet our first week of speakers!

The Cities Rising Summit is quickly approaching. We are excited to share the lineup for the first week of a season of content, Vital Signs: The urgent call to build healthier communities (Sept 15 to 17). Leading community health experts will be joined by changemakers from other industries as they unpack the intersectionality of health equity and our role on the road to change.

Vital Signs Marquee Talk

Capitals of the Confederacy, Under New Management Tuesday, September 15 | 4pm

Over the course of the Civil War, there were three capitals of the Confederacy — Montgomery (AL), Richmond (VA), and Danville (VA). For the first time in history, all three cities have elected Black mayors. Tuesday’s Marquee Talk will feature mayors Steven Reed and Levar Stoney, moderated by the former mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu. They’ll discuss their personal and political journeys, the legacy and future of the South, and their ongoing work for equity and justice.
