Innovating the future of industry and civic life through a series of talks, shows, competitions, and more all starts today! The Summits are a unique opportunity to explore our future with entrepreneurs, leaders, designers, innovators, and visionaries who inspire change. Delve into Summits through eight distinct tracks, from Energy to Health, Government to Food, Media to Investment.

An All-Access or Summit Badge grants you access to so many of our great programs. Individual tickets to specific events are also available. But there is also a  Free Festival pass that allows you to download the app and create a personalized schedule (and sign up for a Community Workshop!)

Ticketed + Badge Events


Youth Summit + Makerville –  The Paramount Theater, 9AM – 12PM; IX Art Park, 12PM – 2PM: This student-planned and student-led ticketed Summit experience convenes the best and brightest high school students for a day of inspirational stories, youth-driven speakers, and participation in high-energy challenges and pitches to an audience.

Presidency at a Crossroads –  The Paramount Theater, 6PM: Explore the history and future of the American presidency with preeminent experts from both sides of the aisle. Political leaders, journalists, and scholars will explore the role of the presidency, and assess the White House 15 months in. Presented by UVA’s Miller Center.

An Evening with John Cleese The Paramount Theater, 8PM: In a special engagement, UVA Division of Perceptual Studies presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the man behind Monty Python.

Free Community Events


Crowdfunded Pitch Night – The Jefferson Theater, 7PM: Ten local entrepreneurs pitch to a live audience willing to pledge funds to their favorite contestant; in just 3 minute-long pitches, they will share their vision and call the audience to action.

Design Your Mind 12pm, CIC Offices.

Gutenberg: Future of WordPress – 3pm, Studio IX.

Listening Like You Mean It – 5pm, Bridge PAI.

Exploring the Art of Partner Dancing6pm, Old Met.

Developing Microenterprise to Employ Adults with Autism – 6:30pm, CitySpace.

Weeklong Events


Farm to Table Restaurant Week, Various Locations, 5:00-11:00pm — Participating restaurants will feature a special dinner menu that features the newly announced Cville Signature Dish, the ham biscuit, alongside seasonal produce and ingredients.

Craft Cocktail Competition, Various Locations, 5:00-11:00pm — Top bartenders create specialty “Tom Tom” cocktails, featuring local spirits and ingredients. Patrons will vote for their favorites throughout the week, and a panel of judges will also crown a winner.
