The Tom Tom Founders Festival and the Charlottesville Area Transit have selected 12 finalists for the City Art Bus Competition, and they are asking the community to help pick the winner.

Public voting will close at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 25.

The winner will be picked by combining the results of the public vote, a vote from CAT’s bus drivers, and a juried panel.

That design will then be used on a 35-foot clean diesel bus, which will then be seen by more than 200,000 commuters.

The 2017 finalist designs were submitted by Alan Goffinski, Andre Shank, Andrew Stronge, Chris Danger, Emily Herr, Jack Graves III, James Callahan, Joshua Jensen, Josh Zarambo, Lou Haney, Paul Hostetler, and Ryan Trott.

It’s all part of the festival’s ‘City as Canvas’ initiative that transforms public spaces using murals, public performance, art installations and more.

This is the third year for the City Art Bus.
