If you’ve been to the Downtown Mall Block Party, you know it is the party of the year for Charlottesville. It is one of the most inclusive celebrations, bringing 25,000+ attendees to make friends and experience all the cultures of Charlottesville. This year, everyone in the community is able to support the Block Party, by making a donation and grabbing a Block Party Passport to enjoy amazing special offers at local businesses throughout the event - and beyond!
Get yours early online, or stop by one of the Tom Tom booths on the mall during the Block Party and pick up your passport - a minimum suggested donation of 10 dollars.

Why your support matters...
This celebration needs YOU and each of US to make it happen. Events are not cheap, even when they’re free. While we receive some generous corporate support, sponsorship only covers about half of our costs. Behind the scenes of this iconic event, expenses add up quickly for things like required police and security presence, liability insurance, A/V equipment, payment for all bands and performers, and more...
Each year, 25,000+ people come downtown for this beautiful celebration. If every attendee were charged admission, we’d be set. But that’s not the accessible party we’re trying to put on! In addition to waiving admission, Tom Tom also receives no alcohol or concession revenue. We elect to have an ABC permit for the block party in which all beverage income is retained by the restaurants in order to boost the downtown economy.
The Passport program is a substantial way the community can participate and ensure future Block Parties occur. Thank you for seeing the value of this beautiful community connector!
