Partner Event: No Country for Mothers - Film Screening and Panel Discussion
What does a more supportive future for mothers and families look like? Our partners Women Advancing and Women United bring that question to the forefront with a screening of No Country for Mothers.
No Country for Mothers follows activist Reshma Saujani as she examines the divisions surrounding modern motherhood and the lack of structural support for American families. The Charlottesville screening will be followed by a local panel conversation about motherhood, entrepreneurship, education, and community, exploring what it would look like to build a culture that truly supports mothers and families.
The event brings together a range of local perspectives including Milkmade Founder and past Tom Tom Speaker, Jenny Lynn Walding, and longtime partner and Tom Tom board member, Kate Byrne. They will be joined by Doreen Bonnet, Executive Director of Birth Sisters of Charlottesville, Rebecca Berlin, Member of the Albemarle County School Board, and local stay-at-home mom, Kristin Longhauser Smith. It will be moderated by Angilee Shah, CEO & Editor in Chief of Charlottesville Tomorrow.
