In partnership with the 2018 Tom Tom Founders Festival, American Evolution is presenting the 2018 Innovators Cup! The Cup is designed to bring together the best and brightest entrepreneurial teams from Virginian universities in a competition! The teams will convene to pitch and showcase their innovative ideas and business concepts in front of a live audience at the Jefferson Theater on April 12th, in hopes of winning $20,000 in prizes, mentorships with celebrated innovators, and collaborations with investors.
This is a remarkable opportunity for students looking to continue their ventures after they graduate, and take their ideas to the next level. This is possible with the support of the community, sponsors, and partners. We are looking forward to hosting teams from Charlottesville and State-wide in this one-of-a-kind event to encourage novel and innovative business concepts and ideas from student teams. After a 3-minute presentation and 3 minutes of Q&A from the audience and judges, a winning team will be determined by a combination of crowd votes and from the panel of judges.
Participants at the Tom Tom Festival will find this to be a great way to connect and see what future graduates are working on, and how the next generation is looking to shape the city, state, and nation. Another perk for participating teams at the 2018 American Evolution Innovators Cup: they will automatically be guaranteed a spot at Commemorate 2019 – the highly anticipated American Evolution-presented event that will celebrate 400 years of Virginians, ideas, and history. The 2019 Innovators Cup will be a signature event of the Commemoration that will be highly anticipated by communities all around the state.
