Don’t Miss – Farm to Table Restaurant Week

Published by Our Local Commons

It’s April in Charlottesville, which means it’s Tom Tom time!

Now in its fourth year, the weeklong Tom Tom Founders Festival captures the convergence of music, art, and innovation that makes Charlottesville such a unique place. One of the elements it seeks to capture is the local food community — a subject matter near and dear to our hearts. To that end, Tom Tom has a wealth of food-related programming this year, including Farm to Table Restaurant Week.

Running the entire length of the festival, from Monday, April 13 through Sunday, April 19, Farm to Table Restaurant Week 2015 features 11 restaurants showcasing local ingredients on their menu. But what’s perhaps more remarkable is that these chefs and restaurants don’t just support local one week a year — they seek out and use local ingredients each and every day. Thus, this weeklong event is an opportunity to acknowledge that dedication and share it with a broader audience.

Restaurants participating in Farm to Table Restaurant Week will offer prix fixe menus that will highlight local ingredients and give information about the farms, producers, and artisans that create them. Reservations will be accepted at any restaurant that typically takes them, and we definitely recommend doing so.

Whole Foods Market Charlottesville is the signature sponsor for Tom Tom’s food programming and will be featuring all 11 chefs and restaurants leading up to the festival. Our Local Commons is thrilled that our images will be featured throughout the store in tandem with these events.

Please join us in supporting Farm to Table Restaurant Week and these chefs and restaurants that are dedicated to helping lift up our local food community and help it thrive.
