Fri: Hip Hop Stage w. 91.1 WTJU - WEST STAGE
Friday night kicks off with beats and performance stage anchored by local favorites, DJ FlatlineLay and DJ DoubleU, laying down radio friendly vibes all evening long. They will be joined by dance performers from Banks Collage Elite Empire and UVA’s AKAdeMiX, and hip hop performances from Heavy Grip LT, Shad Gill, and Lee Bangah. This stage will also be hosted alongside a Black Business Social hosted by the United Way of Greater Charlottesville Albemarle County Economic Development, the Chamber's Minority Business Alliance, BlackCville, and UVA Darden's Black Business Student Association.
Fri: Latin Stage - CENTRAL STAGE
Central Place will come alive on Friday night with the rhythms of Latin America. Come out and dance, or have a drink and watch Charlottesville’s finest. We welcome DJ Charlie Devine (DC) for opening sets of Kizomba and Zouk, followed by DJ Sing of Bachata Cville playing a mix of salsa and bachata to close out the evening. Enjoy dancers from Charlottesville Zouk, The Charlottesville Salsa Club, Foreign Playerz, C4-Kiz and many others.
Sat: Afrobeats Stage - CENTRAL STAGE
This odyssey through African rhythms offers education, entertainment and some awesome dance vibes. Starting with the C'ville Drum Choir, followed by a Kizomba & simba lesson and DJ set from DC’s Charlie Devine. The afternoon takes off with RVA’s DJ Mikemetic, originator of the Afro Beta series, who brings a live rhythm class and DJ set exploring the roots of Afrobeat. The evening wraps with Kenyan DJ Terry TheHippiie and DJayP's energetic set of modern West African afrobeats.
Sat: Roots & Rock Stage w. 91.1 WTJU - WEST STAGE
Come out and enjoy the jams of four talented local acts all formed in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Presented with 91.1 WTJU, the afternoon features an eclectic mixture of folk rock from the Tara Mills Band, a soulful funk rock from Dillon Norback, rock and blues from Tyler Dick Band, and closing out with a sound steeped in americana, Folk, Cosmic Country is the Root Cellar Remedy.
Sat: Family Events - EAST STAGE
Saturday’s block party starts with two community events with The Front Porch, an interactive African Drum Choir and performance, and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Across the street, the Ting Internet Gaming Station & Prize Center will feature Xbox and Nintendo consoles with Rocket League, Super Smash Brothers, and Halo Infinite among other fan favorites. Later in the day, experience the acrobatics, silks, stiltwalkers of the Moonlight Circus Troupe.
The Block Party is free, but you can show your support for this historic event by donating to the Tom Tom Foundation, and picking up some cool swag.
