The Tom Tom Foundation receives NO alcohol revenue from the Downtown Mall Block Party. We elect to have an ABC permit for the block party in which the restaurants retain all food and beverage income. Tom Tom does not control drinks prices nor do we receive any percentage of drink sales.
The week of Tom Tom is 61% busier on the Downtown Mall than an average week in April and 27% busier than the other top weeks of the year, and 110%+ busier than the rest of year.

"This was my very first time attending a Tom Tom Festival. It was also a first time attending a event on the Downtown Mall in over 10 years. I’ve never really felt welcomed at events Downtown. This year the diversity of the Tom Tom Festival allowed me to see my community in a new light. I felt welcomed, I felt like I finally belonged to my community that I grew up in. “Charlottesville is already well known for a broad spectrum of traditional, progressive, conservative, moderate, and cutting edge activities and expressions; and TTFF adds diversity to the mix. The multi-pronged focus on historical inspiration with admiration, collaboration, inspiration and perspiration help promote successful development and implementation of the tremendous knowledge, skills, abilities, and dreams that our wonderful city has to offer.”
