Congratulations to our two 2018 Craft Cocktail Competition winners: Alec Spidalieri from Junction and Carrie Hodgkins Lost Saint. They won the Judges Award and the Pick for Crowd favorite. Our annual Craft Cocktail Competition invites Charlottesville mixologist to create specialty cocktails highlighting local ingredients.
Judge’s Pick: Alec Spidalieri from Junction
Bar Manager, Junction
Alec Spidalieri is a Charlottesville-area native, and has been working behind the bar for close to eight years. He established and currently manages the bar program for Junction in Belmont, sister restaurant of the Local, where he originally learned the craft. He loves to create fun, light-hearted original cocktails using as much DIY technique as possible. Alec also enjoys hobbies such as woodworking, music, and spending time with his wife and two dogs at his home in Barboursville.

Mixologist, Lost Saint
Carrie grew up in Crozet, and has been working in the hospitality industry since she was 15. Craft cocktail bartending became a passion and profession after moving to Edinburgh, Scotland where she bartended and ultimately managed the cocktail program of Tigerlily. Upon returning to Charlottesville, Carrie found her cocktail home in Lost Saint. Carrie is a co-founder of W.I.T.C.H. (Women Involved Through Charlottesville Hospitality) and has a weakness for good Scotch, pizza and big dogs.
