More Founders Summit Speakers Announced

The Tom Tom Founders Festival announced Thursday the second round of speakers for its 2016 Founders Summit.

The daylong summit, presented in partnership with i.Lab at the University of Virginia, will take place April 15 at the Paramount Theater and will bring together a series of innovators from all over for talks, panel discussions and luncheons.

The second round of speakers for this year’s summit are: Dahlia Lithwick, a senior editor at Slate Magazine and an award-winning author and journalist; Sam Rosen, founder and CEO of self-storage business MakeSpace; Brendan Richardson, co-founder and CEO of the Charlottesville-based wireless sensor company PsiKick; and Deb McMahon, co-founder and CEO of the Charlottesville-based online learning development company Scitent.

Tickets for the 2016 Founders Summit are available for $69 through Friday. After that, the price rises to $79. For more information, visit tomtomfest.com/founders-summit.

Tom Tom also is offering 100 scholarships for entrepreneurial students to attend the summit for free. Interested students can apply at tomtomfest.com/scholars.

The entire festival, consisting of concerts, talks, competitions and public art displays from hundreds of bands, startups and visionaries, will run from April 11 to 17 all over Charlottesville. Last year’s festival brought an attendance of more than 26,000 people, showcased more than 400 community organizations and had an economic impact of $1.5 million on the Charlottesville community, according to a news release from Tom Tom.
